Mental Health Coaching

As a mental health coach I partner with individuals to work toward improving their mental health and well-being. I work with clients to help them set and achieve goals related to their mental health, and to develop the skills and strategies needed to maintain good mental health over time.

I help clients understand and manage their symptoms, improve their coping skills, and to increase their resilience. I also also help clients identify and address any underlying issues that may be contributing to their mental health problems. I work with clients to set and achieve goals related to their mental health, such as reducing their stress, improving their sleep, or increasing their social support.

It is important to point out that as a mental health coach I work with clients who have been diagnosed with a mental health condition, such as depression or anxiety, but unlike a therapist or counselors, I do not diagnose any mental health condition. Additionally, if I encounter a client that requires more than coaching I will refer them to a licensed therapist.

What is the difference between a Life Coach and a Mental Health Coach?

A life coach is a professional who helps individuals set and achieve personal and professional goals. They may focus on areas such as career development, relationships, personal growth, and wellness. A mental health coach, on the other hand, is a professional who helps individuals manage and improve their mental health. They may focus on areas such as stress management, and improving overall well-being. While there may be some overlap between the two, the main difference is that life coaches focus on helping individuals achieve their goals and aspirations, while mental health coaches focus on improving mental health and managing mental health conditions.

I believe that the way to achieve the best outcomes in life is to take a holistic approach of the entire health of the system. In my opinion focusing on career development, relationships, and personal growth without being healthy in body, mind, and spirit leads to predictable outcomes. Our coping mechanisms work until they don’t work any longer and we can only perform our way thru life for so long. The best outcomes are realized by systematic transformation.

It’s important to note that mental health coaching is not a substitute for traditional therapy or medical treatment, and clients should always consult with a licensed therapist or physician for any mental or physical health concern
